Recommended Campsites in Namibia
Otjiwarongo, Waterberg, Tsumeb and Grootfontein
Otjiwarongo Area
Waterberg National Park:
Situated south of Otjiwarongo at the Waterberg National Park. This makes a perfect stop over on the way to Etosha National Park or back to Windhoek.
The campsites are under big shady trees and some of the sites have lawn left. The campsite is quite run down and is in need of an upgrade.
This is a hikers dream as there are numerous hiking trails up the Waterberg Plateau, guided and unguided.
We recommend this site due to its location and not necessarily for camp site quality.

Okonjima Campsite - Omboroko:
Situated on the Okonjima Reserve this is a private campsite and sadly is only available for a minimum of 4 persons. The campsite has shade nets, BBQ area, running water and a bathroom. The site is rather expensive, but it includes a guided tour to the welfare project of The AfriCat Foundation, which again makes it worth the while.
